I’ve had to change my pricing policy so that ALL my customers pay me half the price we’ve agreed once they send me their document, with the final half paid when I send the edited or proofread document back to them.
I’ve had to do this as many of the people I’ve done small editing jobs for, who aren’t regular customers, have not paid me at all for the time and effort I spent editing their documents. I cannot accept that, so have had to take this measure.
When you send me your document, I will send you an invoice for half the price we’ve agreed. All the payment details you need – bank details, PayPal details, IBAN and BIC numbers – will be on the invoice I send to you. Unless you’re a regular client, I won’t start working on your document until I’ve received this payment. When I send the edited document back to you, I will attach my second invoice for the final half of the payment.
I think this is a reasonable thing to do as I’ve recently done a number of small jobs, yet haven’t been paid for at least three of them. In the past, there have been many more.
If you need any document (letter, CV or resume, application, essay, dissertation, article, magazine, book, website, etc) edited or proofread, this is is the place to come. I have excellent English-language skills, always work quickly and accurately, and guarantee I will give you a great service at a great price.
Any Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Libre Office or InDesign document you have, I am able to edit – and annotate any PDF. I know all the style sheets out there (Harvard, Chicago, MLA and so on), so can ensure your document fits any required style.
Also, I am incredibly efficient and accurate. All my work is done to the highest standard, so any edited document I send back to you will be perfect. I pride myself on the great work I do.
I am more than happy to revise any work I do if it’s not in line with your requirements, but generally the only time that happens is when people aren’t willing to pay their final invoice (hello Heidi Mumford!).
All you have to do is contact me through my Contact page above or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’ll then send you a quote of my price and we can take it from there. For all jobs, I’ll send you an invoice for half the payment we’ve agreed once you send me the document, then send an invoice for the second half once I’ve completed the work and sent it back to you.
After that, I will do the work and send the edited document back to you via email. If it’s a big file, via a dropbox, WeTransfer or whatever means you prefer.
You can pay me either directly through your bank or through PayPal. All my details are on the invoice I will send you. I also have IBAN and BIC numbers, so international payments can be made easily.
I guarantee you will be happy with the work I do! Any amendments you require I will do at no extra charge. Happy customers are my reason to keep going – which is why I’ve been successful so far.
There’s a lot of positive feedback on my Testimonials page, so please take a look to see their comments. There are also reviews on Facebook, Yell, Yelp, Free Index and My Local Services. I always do my best work when people really need me, so please take a look at the services I offer and get in touch!
I look forward to hearing from you! You can also email me at email@example.com.

I think this is completely reasonable & well done on addressing the issue! People can’t expect you to work for free, so good you’re taking a stand!
Cheers. I was unsure whether to do this or not, but, as you said, I can’t work for nothing as it’s a waste of my time and effort.
All you have to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org or hit the Contact tab at the top of this page to get the best editing service you ever will.
